Cork-Safe is a city centre initiative that provides an extra layer of security for the day and night time traders of Cork.
Unfortunately, we see an increasing burden being placed on the private sector to maintain its own security, at a time when few can afford round-the-clock, full-time or even part-time security personnel.
Cork-Safe provides private security on call as a “First Line of Defence” for those who do not retain security, and provides back up to those with existing security personnel.
Cork-Safe is intended to be a partnership of key public agencies and authorities, the local Gardai from Anglesey Street and the Bridewell Garda Station, the Garda Crime Prevention Unit, Cork City's retailers, traders and publicans and is administered by Cerberus Security in conjunction with other security providers in the city. Its focus is to tackle crime, drugs, anti-social behaviour and safety issues as a community and to create a safer environment in the city centre.
